There hasn't been any indication from Google one way or the other as to whether they will roll out the carousel for church and schools. Right now I think they are testing it out on a smaller scale to see how it does. If it works out according to whatever goals they have for it, I don't see why they wouldn't roll it out to more categories. We'll have to wait and see.

I really like the look and usability of the local results "carousel." I noticed that the carousel is implemented for restaurant search results, but when I search for churches or schools I get the older style with the results on the left and map on the right. Any idea if this will eventually get rolled out for all location related searches like churches and schools?
