Two other ways to build links that are easy enough for anyone to and don’t take a lot of time are

– posting messages in forums (including a link to your site in your signature)
– posting comments on blogs that are related to your site.

Gotta be sure to be genuinely contributing to the conversation though and not blatently spamming for links.
