Browsing: blogging

Friday we wrapped up the group blog project for the book Trust Agents. The book is all about using social media to build trust and influence. It’s got a ton of good ideas and action steps. I’ve been in the process of implementing a lot of them. And now I am drowning in the stream…

We’ve reached the end of the Trust Agents book. However, this is not the end, but just the beginning. It’s time to begin putting into practice the things we’ve learned. Here are my biggest take-aways from Trust Agents and what I’m going to do with them. What are you going to do?

“No matter where they go, trust agents have a desire to connect good people together. We refer to this as being Agent Zero; being in the center of a network and being able to spread ideas.”

Online communities are valuable. They can be reached more quickly and leveraged more effectively, and the right kind of trust agent can work with those communities to effect actionable change.

Today I’ll be blogging live from the first ever Cultivate Conference in Chicago. Cultivate is being described as less of a conference (which tends to be a few people speaking and the vast majority sitting back and listening) and more of a series of “organized conversations” for participants to discuss issues related to church communications.

Back in May Amazon announced a program where bloggers can make their blogs available to Kindle users. When it was first announced I signed up Christian Web Trends, got an automated response saying it was pending a review, and then forgot about it. Not sure when Amazon approve it, but Christian Web Trends is now available on Kindle.

Sixteen of my fellow bloggers are going to read and discuss Trust Agents: Using the Web to Build Influence, Improve reputation and Earn Trust, the new book by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith. Here’s the schedule and bloggers who are participating.
