Hi Tony, according to this article – https://www.behindthemixer.com/your-guide-to-churches-music-and-copyright-infringement/ , “Churches do not need a performance license to play / perform copyrighted music IN A WORSHIP SERVICE.” But I am not a lawyer and we do not give legal advice here at OCC, so I would recommend you investigate this on your own or ask a copyright lawyer.

That’s a totally non-profit endeavor – a tax free entity in most cases!

Copyright law. Even though we use the hymnals printed by our own church body we STILL have to have active licenses.
