I am interested in finding a job as an online evangelist or telephone evangelist. Do you know of any employment opportunities in this area? Please email me rather than replying to my question here: Mi**************@gm***.com

Sometimes this strategy stuff can get kind of boring. But it is important and allows us to make better use of these tools. You can look forward to more of this "boring" stuff in my upcoming book!

Unfortunately, my observation is that most online ministries lack all 3 of the key planning steps. Most an assumed mission to support the broader mission of the organization. Most say their audience is everyone. And most have no measurable goals. To me that indicates they are just winging it and not taking the online aspect of their ministry seriously.

My hope is that a lot of organizations that have been winging it with their online ministry will see this and recognize that online ministry is too big an opportunity to blow by not having having a plan that includes these 3 elements.

Internet evangelism is a ministry option not a technology option. Successful ministry initiatives start with vision clarity and the processes you've articulated so well.

Instinctively, I think church leaders understand that we've turned a corner in how the globalization of communication is affecting the world. They also know that dealing with it strategically will take a realignment of priorities. I'm not sure what it will take for online ministry to get on the front burner.

(Shameless plug alert) There's one organization doing Internet evangelism right and they have an idea about getting more churches engaged. It's a strategy as old as Moses. I will talk about that and another innovative approach the ministry is using in tomorrows final post of the series.

It's good to know that I got some of these things right before I started. As a Cowboy Preacher, I know exactly who my target is and I write specifically to them. I do miss the bulls eye sometimes, but with God's help I know that it reaches someone and that's the whole point.

I am sure not anywhere close to thinkin' that I can offer anyone advice about blogging or online ministry. I do know something about rodeo though.

You should always have good preparation and think things through the best you can.

It's not a competition against others, you're competing against yourself.

You won't ever get better by sittin' on a bronc in the chute. Eventually you got to nod your head.

(And that right there is the scary part)

Thanks again for your time and insight….

Kevin Weatherby
