That's great Vicki. Thanks for sharing this. You were clearly very strategic – having monthly, weekly, and daily posts. That makes all the difference! Most communication tools (including FB pages) fail because people set them up with no strategy or plan for how they're going to use them.

I have already developed a website and I am the person that keeps it up to date. The pastor gives me what he wants to post for the sermons etc. I have set the rule that I will only post what is given to me computer ready… I have had several people try to hand me thier video camera to post on the site.. NOPE… i enjoy doing God's work to get the word out to whom ever I can… this is one of the talents he gave me… I am working on getting the church to not be an anchor in this ministry… God did not give me the talent of changing their minds **smile** but he does give me resources such as I am hoping ths site will be .

As the office manager at the childcare, I went ahead and set up the Facebook for the childcare. We starting getting calls. Parents were loving the new communication tool. THey felt it kept them part of thier children's lives during the day. As it became popular, and the director saw how many parents liked us on facebook.. she eventually came around and now she is o
ur greatest poster. But I started with a plan. i knew what type of information I wanted to get out to our community. I knew I would need to monitor the progress. I put together a plan to increase the interest in the postings. I have regular weekly posts… what is the theme for the week… I have monthy posts… events coming up… and I have daily posts … what happened today in class or happenings in the area that might be of interest to parents. … Some posts can be set up ahead of time and some are spontanious. I linked to interesting sites. I have pictures… I lead the child care to where I saw the potential and showed how any negatives can be easily handled. It has been very successful
