Just found this post while surfing Christian Web Trends. All the points you made about helping people are good points indeed. The problem I see is the "Choose to do something about it" , in your list under " Help People". Of course in a real life setting, this is much easier. But my ministry is online.
I can welcome strangers into my site's chat room. I can care about them, listen to them while they share. I can ask them how I can help and how I can serve their needs. But what escapes me in an online ministry, is " choose to do something".

Its not possible. Online ministry is very unique in that there is no transparency or accountability when you are discipling a person online. there is no "action" outside the confines of a chat room or webpage forum.

How would you suggest building influence online?
