Summer does not mean that you do this…

Mark SteinbrueckBy Mark SteinbrueckMay 24, 20174 Comments2 Mins Read

In the Steinbrueck household, “summer-itis” is running rampant.

This is the last week of school for my kids, many of their extracurricular activities have come to a close, and even some of the volunteer activities that my wife and I do are on hiatus for the next couple of months.

The mentality is “let’s get to the finish line, then chill for a while.”

A summer break is fine for some things in our life but for others, there is no room for a break.  Just because it is summer time, I shouldn’t stop:

    • Studying God’s word
    • Spending time with my wife and family
    • Going to church
    • Exercising

This is also the time that you shouldn’t take a break from updating your church website.

If you have a church or school website, many of the usually activities are on break until August, but that doesn’t mean your website should be outdated.

If moving, many families move during the summer months, so it is important to have your website up to date with information for those searching for a church or school.

“Nothing is worse for someone coming to your website on Memorial Day to see info about Mother’s Day Tea or Easter Services.”  – Mark Steinbrueck

Make sure you clean all of those old activities off and get information for upcoming summer events!

In addition, put together a plan for who/when your website will be updated, even if the primary person is traveling or on vacation.

What do you do to ensure your website is up to date over the summer?  Please post your comments below.

If you are frustrated with your old site and want to talk about options for a new site, please contact me here.

Hi Mark, I kept thinking about what you said and I remembered that the Bible itself says there is time for everything under the skies, but I am in doubt when I should do something of lesser importance or dedicate myself to the things of my church (things of God) .
