Last Call! You Better Have This Done

    Mark SteinbrueckBy Mark SteinbrueckApr 10, 2017Updated:Feb 11, 20204 Comments2 Mins Read

We have arrived!  It is Holy week and Easter is less than 7 days away.  As mentioned in our post last week, more searches are done for “church” around Easter than any other time.  This is like the Superbowl, World Series, Stanley Cup, Final Four, Masters, (ok, you get the idea) for the church.

Your church is probably doing all kinds of preparation for Easter:  Cleaning, landscaping, adding signage, adding more seats, etc, so don’t forget to clean your church website.  I have mentioned it in other posts this spring, but it is imperative for you to do Spring Cleaning on your website before Easter.

Go through your website carefully and remove all of the following:

    • Images, graphics, and videos promoting events that have already occurred
    • Links to registration for past events
    • Images of people who no longer attend your church

There aren’t a lot of things you need to look for, but it is important to look through all parts of your site to find any of these things and remove them.  Remember, Easter is the only time you have to make a first impression on so many new visitors.

Went back to church for the first time in 5 or 6 years…place was packed. I felt very calm afterwards…sign of good things to come?

I’m glad to hear that Eckland. Whether its a sign of good things to come is up to you – whether you wait another 5-6 or whether you continue to pursue a relationship with God and his church now. I hope you’ll choose the latter. 🙂
