Today I am going to write about the 3rd reason WordPress is a great website platform for you: It is updated on a regular basis.
What this means is that new versions of WordPress are being released all the time. Click here to see how many new versions were released in 2015.
You may ask yourself, “Why is this important?” There are a two primary reasons that having regular updates are important:
- Security: As technology changes, hackers and those who want to do harm to your website develop more ways to cause you and your website trouble. With new versions of WordPress being released nearly every month, it means that it is much more difficult for hackers to attack an updated website.
- Functionality: Another benefit of new version of WordPress can be new features or functionality. Not every version of WordPress has noticeable or uber-exciting feature enhancements but it is great to know they are constantly working on improving the features of the WordPress platform.
Now you can only enjoy these benefits if you update your version on a regular basis. However, it is great to know that they have made updating your version of WordPress so easy. With a click of a button (in your dashboard/back-end of your website), you can have the new version of WP.
