    DIY Church SEO?

Should you hire an SEO professional to do search engine optimization for your church or can you do it yourself?

Today we’ve got a special video blog post to address that question.

This video post is inspired by episode 38 of #AskBrady (starting 8:08 into the video), in which Brady Shearer of ProChurchTools addresses this question sent to him by a reader.

Two points I want to make to close out the post. First, as Brady said so well…

SEO: it stands for search engine optimization, and when it comes to your church, it’s of supreme importance. -Brady Shearer

In other words, the question is not should you do SEO for your church website. The question is how should you do SEO for your church website – yourself or by hiring a professional SEO.

Second, the issue is not, “Can you do SEO for your church website yourself?” but rather, “Should you do it yourself?”

That depends on a lot of different factors explained in the video, including whether you are willing to take time away from other things you’re doing to invest it in learning SEO and doing your own SEO.

It’s like replacing the brakes on your car, you probably could learn to it yourself, but should you? That depends on lots of things including your own mechanical abilities and how much time you want to put into learning about and doing brake jobs vs the money you’d save by doing it yourself.

If you’re in the process of deciding whether to do your own church SEO or hire a professional, you can learn more about SEO in our series What is SEO? or have a friendly, no-pressure chat with one of our SEOs about our church SEO services.

    What do you think?

Do you think church SEO is something you could or should do yourself?  Got any other questions about church SEO?  Post them in a comment below.

Hi Robby, I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying it’s better to do SEO yourself, hire a professional, or something else?

It’s all about taking care of what is in your inheritance rather than operating from a mindset that is anything but the identity that our Father sees you as.

You know when you are operating from your unction, then the Lord has anointed you for that work.
