How to Create a Direct Link to Google Reviews

How to Create a Direct Link to Google Reviews

We’ve already established that online reviews have a big impact on local search rankings and a big impact on people’s buying decisions. Therefore, you probably want to get more online reviews, right?

Maybe you want to put a link to post a Google review on your website (great idea!) or email some people and ask them to post a review (great idea!).

There’s something you need first – the web address (URL) where people can post a Google review.

This seems like it should be simple to get, but search for your organization in Google and your Google Business Profile info is shown on the right side of the search results. You can click to view reviews and post a review, but those things are done as popups and don’t have their own unique web address.  Same thing in Google Maps.

How to Create a Direct Link for Google Reviews

In recent years, Google has made it much simpler to get a direct link for Google Business Profile reviews.

    1) Go to https://www.google.com/business/ and login to your Google account

    2) If you manage more than one Google Business Profile listing, you should see a list of those listings. Click on the one for which you want to get the direct link.

(If you manage only one GBP listing, you won’t need to do this step. When you login, you will be taken right to your GBP listing)

Google Business Profile - businesses list

    3) The page that follows shows your Google Business Profile (plus some GBP admin functions only you can see). Scroll down, if you’re on a desktop computer look for the “Get More Reviews” button in the right sidebar, and click it.

    4) A popup will be displayed with your Google “Review link.”  Copy the URL, and paste it wherever you want to share it.

(We’ve noticed that sometimes the URL is not shown. In those cases, click to share via email, WhatsApp, or Facebook, and then copy the URL from that app)

That’s how to create a direct link to Google reviews.

    For example: https://g.page/r/CaUr_nHJnci7EAg/review

If you haven’t posted an online review of OurChurch.Com, would you take 30 seconds to click the link above and do that now?

If you want more online reviews, you’ve got to give people a direct link to the Google reviews form.

How to Get More Online Reviews

Now that you’ve got that direct link so people can post Google reviews for your local church, nonprofit, or business. You may be thinking… What now?

Well our team at OurChurch.Com has experimented with many different strategies to get more online reviews for our company as well as our clients.  Some worked great and resulted in many new reviews. Others not so much.

We’ll be sharing what we’ve found to be the most effective strategies for getting online reviews in future articles in this series.

Don’t have time to become an SEO expert and do your own SEO?

Good leaders know they can’t do everything and need to delegate to others. Consider delegating responsibility for your SEO to OurChurch.Com so you have more time for the things you’re really good and passionate about.

    Comment and Discuss

    • Have you asked someone to post a Google review for your organization and sent them the direct URL?  If yes, how did it go? If no, why not?
