Who is Christ and how do I get to know him?

Abiding Savior Lutheran ChurchProviding answers to these questions is something that Abiding Savior Lutheran Church of St. Louis, MO is passionate about.  In fact, the mission of the church is “To Know Christ To Make Him Known.”  Earlier this week, Abiding Savior launched their new website to help accomplish this mission.

Abiding Savior Lutheran (ASL) found OurChurch.Com through another school website built by OCC for Lutheran High School South.  In fact, Abiding Savior wanted a new website for both their church and one for their school & Early Childhood Ministry.  As a result, both the church and school websites were designed together to create a similar look to establish branding correlation between the two websites.

ASL did not want to commit to a long-term program, so they paid upfront to have OCC design/develop the website separate to hosting and support for their website.  Doing this means they fully own their website now and pay for hosting and support as they go.  Below are a few highlights of how ASL Church is using their website to help accomplish their mission:

    • Custom design: Wanting the ability to establish their “own” look and feel, they worked with OCC’s staff to create a design that was completely custom to ASL.
    • Videos of sermons: ASL has made it simple for those who are not able to attend the church service to watch past sermons.  This is a extremely helpful feature for those who are sick, traveling, or want to go back and experience a lesson again.
    • Social Media: ALS understands the importance of meeting people where they are, so they prominently display links to their FaceBook, Twitter, and Pintrest accounts so people can follow and interact with the church via social media.
    • Volunteer Ministry:  There are always needs to be met within a church and ASL uses their website to list all the specific ways that people can serve in the church as well as a way to contact someone to volunteer.
    • Prayer requests: For those who want to submit prayer requests to the church, they can simply go to the website’s “prayer request” page, enter the prayer need, and can send their request to the church’s prayer team.
