How our school’s new website has helped us grow

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckSep 23, 2009Updated:Jan 30, 20232 Comments2 Mins Read

The following is a guest post by Jennifer Snow, Principal of  Family of Christ Christian School in Tampa, FL.

Family of Christ Christian School has been utilizing our newly updated Website developed by OurChurch.Com for over a year.  When prospective parents call to inquire about the school we refer to the website after answering their questions.  By having the parents refer to the web they can view curriculum, handbook, paperwork and various school events prior to their actual visit.  Family of Christ has personalized our website by showcasing pictures and videos of our students and families.

The Church sermons are also now posted on the web, allowing the congregation to listen to the weekly sermons throughout the week and our Pastor is even looking into starting a blog.

We have capitalized on the search engines that direct prospective families to our website when looking for a Lutheran Church or Christian School in the Tampa Bay area.   I would highly recommend utilizing the search engines to the fullest to maximize your advertising potential as it has brought in several prospective families interested in our school.

As many schools and organization are moving to “Be Green”, we have utilized the web in communicating to families for PTL, School and Church events.  Families are referred to the website pages that previously were copied and distributed prior to our updated website.  We have the ability to update daily, weekly and monthly to communicate to our families.  This has kept people better informed and also saved us money in printing and copying costs.

The website applications are user friendly.  The Custom CMS Video Tutorials are excellent reference tools and have made it easy to keep the website up to date and add new documents, information, and pictures.

Having the new website has been a great experience and we are still excited about the ways we are finding to utilize the website for the school.  Eventually, we hope to have grades online as well.  Being high in the search engine results and having an attractive and informative website have brought in new students.  It has saved us time and money and helped to grow Family of Christ.
