    2009 FL/GA Lutheran Educators Conference

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckSep 16, 2009Updated:Jan 30, 20234 Comments2 Mins Read

Tomorrow Mark, Kurt, and I are heading across the state to Daytona Beach for the 2009 Florida/Georgia (District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) Educator’s Conference. (Whew, glad I didn’t have to create letterhead for that).

OurChurch.Com will have an exhibitor’s booth there.  Tomorrow Kurt Steinbrueck, my bro and our Director of Search Marketing, will lead a workshop called “Using Google to Achieve Full Enrollment.”  He’ll be talking about how private schools can use search engine optimization and AdWords to attract new students.

Friday I’ll be leading a workshop called “Web Tools for More Effective Communication.”  I originally proposed calling it “12 Steps to Solving All Your School Communication Problems” but apparently that got shot down and renamed. 😛  I’ll be talking about how a schools website can be used to save the school time and money and prevent miscommunication.

I’ll also be blogging live from the conference the next 2 days, and we’ll post our workshop materials online when we’re able. But here’s what what I’m looking forward to most…

I love going to conferences like this for lots of reasons, but among the biggest is that it gives us a chance to listen teachers and principals and hear their perspectives on websites and SEO.  It’s really important for us to stay dialed in to what’s working as well as what their greatest website challenges are.

How much time do you spend listening to the successes and struggles of the people you serve?

If you’re going to be at the conference or in Daytona Thursday or Friday, stop by our booth and say, “Hi.”

As a fellow LC-MS member, I love teacher conferences. Have fun and I know your words will help our schools to grow. Especially in today times where our Lutheran Schools are hurting with enrollment.

Dan, thanks for stopping the blog and commenting. We’re enjoying the conference so far. If there’s anything we can do to help the Lutheran Educators’ Guild or the teachers in it, let us know.

We’re going to post materials from our workshops to the blog here. If you think they would be helpful, perhaps you could spread the word by blogging about and linking to them.

We’d be more than happy to blog about your workshops. We’re also looking for some more Lutheran teachers to blog for the Guild. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please have them get in touch with me at webmaster (at) lutheraneducators (dot) com.

      Blessings on your conference!
