How to Reach Out with Facebook Ads for Easter

Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckApr 6, 20173 Comments3 Mins Read

Easter is one of the most highly attended church services of the year. Many people who are unbelievers or irregular attenders will consider going to a church service for Easter. This provides a great opportunity for outreach.

While there are many ways to reach people in your community, one of the easiest and most cost-effective is Facebook Ads.

Because Facebook has location and demographic data of all its users, it makes micro-targeting possible. You can run ads that are displayed only to people specific zip codes. As a result, you don’t have to pay to show ads to people who are outside your area, and ads get a better response rate.

    Church Facebook Ads Results

Chris Abbott of Creative Church Network is a church Facebook Ads expert. He has shared several case studies:

A church of 120 spent $78 on Facebook ads. 8,178 people saw the ads. 236 clicked to their website. 11 new families visited the church.

A church of 2,000 spent $433 on Facebook ads. 25,386 people saw the ads. 1164 clicked to their website. An estimated 1,500 visitors attended on Easter (no data on exactly how many came specifically because of the FB ads though)

Facebook enables you to scale your campaign to your budget, so it can work for a church of any size.

    Facebook Ad Recommendations

Here are some recommendations for how to run effective Facebook ad campaigns for Easter.

    1) Easter Landing Page – Create a page on your church website specifically about your Ester services. Make this page the destination people go to when they click your ad.

    2) Video – Don’t worry about graphic design. Shoot a 15-30 second video of your pastor inviting people to Easter services. A video is not only more engaging but faster and easier to create.

    3) Low or no production – People turn a blind eye to fancy over-produced videos. The most effective ads are the most authentic. Record the video on your phone. Don’t worry about adding background music or logos.

    4) Track results – Facebook can give you lots of ad stats but they can’t tell you how many people actually stepped foot into your church building. Ask all visitors how they heard about your church either verbally if your church is small or using visitor cards. This is the ONLY way to know how effective your ads have been.

Check out this example.  You can do that, right?
