Some of you may know that I am a big baseball fan. I love to watch, coach, and play the game. In particular, I am a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ever since 1982 when the Cardinals won the World Series over the Milwaukee Brewers, I have followed the Redbirds through all their ups and downs.
Yesterday, was one of the biggest “downs” in Cardinals history. One of their youngest and brightest players, Oscar Taveras, died in a tragic car accident in his native Dominican Republic. It is not tragic that a baseball player died, or that a St. Louis Cardinal player died, but that a human being died. I realize that every day people pass away. It is equally as tragic when a child, pastor, mother, missionary die.
My point in all of this is…
We never know when our final day will be.
If you are a Christ follower, there is joy knowing that life on this earth does not mean the end but the transition to a heaven; A place with no sorrow or pain, shared with our Heavenly Father. However, there are people we all know who haven’t trusted their lives in Christ Jesus and we don’t know if today is their last day on earth.
Because you are reading this, you are likely involved in an organization whose mission or purpose is to connect people to Christ. If that is the case…
