OurChurch.Com’s focus for the month of June is on missions. If you didn’t get the announcement yesterday, we launched a new Missions Mashup page, which combines information about missionaries around the globe onto one page. As you may know we like to orient the topics of our blog articles around the focus for the month. I could probably write some useful articles about using web technology, but I think we’d all benefit from reading the perspective of people who have actually done missions work. So, we’re looking for some pastor present missionaries who would like to be guest bloggers this month.
To be a guest blogger you don’t have to have a blog or have ever blogged before to be a guest blogger. But you do need to have served as a missionary or within a missions organization. And you need to be able to write an article about how you used the Internet to help your ministry.
If you’d like to do this, please send us a 2 paragraph message either as a public comment to this blog article or as a private message through our help desk. The first paragraph should be about you and your background. The second paragraph should be a summary of the article you propose to write.
If you know some people who are or have served as missionaries outside their native country who you think would make great guest bloggers, please pass the word along to them.

We served as missionaries to Mexico from 1998-2005, and the internet was an important tool in communicating with our home church, with visiting work teams, with Bible study tools for sermon preparation, and to stay in touch with family and friends. My names are Re Elijah Wekesa Misiko from Kenya East Africa .Iam director andfounder of Compassion WordMinistries ,we are involved in training pastors and church leadrs thrugh satelitte bible schools in the interior parts of Kenya and other African countries.IWhile in Uganda recently i used the internet to connect to pastors who wre in need of ministration ,so i really appreciate what ourchurch .com is doing to support us leaders from the third world to connect with other ministers around the globe.
My wife and I served as missionaries with OMS International in Hungary from 2002-2007. We’re currently on deputation in the U.S., raising support to return to Hungary to continue our ministry there.
I had done web pages even before serving as a missionary, while I was a pastor in the States. So I kept up a webpage when we first went to the mission field. One of the difficulties I found was the often laborious task of keeping a website updated, not really knowing how many people were reading it or if it was even worth the effort. It was while we were in Hungary that blogging became very popular. I found that doing a blog was a much easier way to keep things updated, but I had a hard time putting up all the information I wanted to have available. After trying several different methods, I finally found that by using several blogs together, I could provide ready access to the information I wanted people to see, and still have the ease of updating that comes from a blog. On my blog/website (which is really a conglomeration of blogs) I now have a blog, video (including video blogs that I’ve produced and published using YouTube), our written newsletter, a photo album, and information about us. I recently started a new blog with some of my Bible teaching, and I’m thinking about adding another one on apologetics. I’d be happy to share about these on your blog.

I am a missionary in a rural part of western China, close to Tibet. I blog regularly as a way to share with others some of what is going on over here on the field and in my own spiritual life.

praise the lord it is a blessing to hear what the lord is doing through web, please am one of those pastor who prayer to our church .com for they help to us with small churches in slums ,again i say thanks for all what you are doing hope to see those missionary who have a heart to visit me and my family and church,.
