Is your church/ministry struggling with this?

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckMay 10, 2017Updated:Jul 19, 20231 Comment2 Mins Read

Yesterday, I sent a quick email asking, “What are the 2 biggest challenges your church or ministry faces when it comes to giving/tithing?”

We received a phenomenal response and these are some of the challenges you shared with us in your replies.

Do any of these sound familiar?

    • “We need to hold off until the end of summer when giving picks up again.”
    • “We had to cancel services because of the storm and so we will miss this week’s offering.”
    • “Our young adults just aren’t giving.”
    • “So many of our members only give what’s left over. We need to help them give God the first “fruits” of their labor.”
    • “When people miss services because their sick or traveling, they don’t give.”
    • “Oops, I forgot to bring my checkbook again.”

Part of the reason so many churches and ministries are struggling financially is because they are not properly utilizing technology that has been around for many years.

Many churches still limit giving options to physical checks or cash.

Other churches offer online giving but only with a one-time giving option (simple PayPal button).

Because of the limitations of these types of giving, many ministries suffer during summer months, when attendance is low for other reasons, and because many young adults don’t write checks or even have a checking account.

    In fact…

    • By 2025 millennials (born between 1981 -2005) will account for 46% of all income but more than 20% have never written a check.
    • 94% of consumers under the age of 35 regularly use online banking.
    • Millennials are the parents of young children and the life blood of your church

So what does all this mean? You need to adjust your giving options to what people are comfortable using, making it easy for people to give to your church.

We will be launching a solution that will make giving easy, affordable and secure.

Tomorrow, I will go into more detail about this solution and the one-time offer we will be making.

In the mean time, post a comment below and share with us and your fellow readers…
