That’s the sound of our development team dropping 4 new website themes for our WP-EZ Website Builder:
- Urban Church
- Urban School
- Urban Business
- Urban Ministry (for poverty, homeless, mentoring ministries)
The four themes all have a black/white/gray color scheme and feature sample images of urban city scenes. Here’s a video overview of the Urban Church Theme:

Urban Ministry Theme
A lot of urban ministries are focused on helping people in need, so we designed the Urban Ministry theme specifically for these kinds of ministries – homeless shelters, soup kitchens, after-school care for children, teen mentoring programs. The Urban Ministry theme includes page templates for online giving and volunteers, which are vital to all urban ministries.
This marks the 4th straight month we’ve released a new set of themes WP-EZ themes

The new Urban themes are only available in WP-EZ 2.0, and WP-EZ 2.0 is only available in our Gold web hosting package. To order Gold and build a new site, start here.
If you already have the Silver, Bronze or free package, we encourage you to upgrade so you can use WP-EZ 2.0. To upgrade:
- Login to MyOCC
- Click the “Services” menu and select “My Services”
- Click on hosting package you want to upgrade
- On the left side of the page under “Actions” click the “Upgrade/Downgrade” option

How do we know if we have the Gold if it is 2.0 or not?
Hi Sherry, good question. You can find out what theme you’re using by going to your WP-EZ Dashboard and clicking the “Edit Theme” option.
To tell if it’s a 2.0 theme is, you would have to go to https://www.ourchurch.com/wp-ez-christian-church-themes/ and see if it one of the themes listed as a 2.0 theme.
You have the Traditional Ministry theme which is a 2.0 theme.
I like the Urban Church Theme. How does one switch to a different theme? Is there a way to backup a previous theme?
Hi Carolyn, on your WP-EZ Dashboard, there is a “Switch themes” option. You can’t backup a previous theme.
I watched this video, about an urban theme. It is nice to add a website which relates to urban.
