Creating a Simple, Beautiful, Remarkable 2011

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckJan 4, 2011Updated:Feb 8, 20236 Comments2 Mins Read

Life is noisy.  And getting noisier.

Technology is making it possible to connect and communicate with more people more easily.  While that has many positive implications, the negative consequence is we’re getting more messages from more people.  Family, friends, church, school, every organization we’re involved with, every company we’ve ever bought something from, and many we haven’t – they all want get their messages through to us.

The more messages, the harder it is for someone’s message to be heard above the noise.  So, what do most organizations do?  They say more, and they say it louder.  More emails, more blog posts, more social media, more special offers, more options, more exclamation marks, more dramatic headlines, more bells and whistles.

    And life gets even noiser.

As someone who’s on the receiving end of all these messages, you see the problem.  You want some relief, don’t you?  You want people to

    • get to the point
    • speak in plain English
    • stop promoting the same stuff over and over
    • just give you info on the stuff your interested in
    • make it easy for you to find more info if you want it
    • stop hurting your eyes with ugly websites
    • make stuff easy enough to use that you don’t need to read a manual
    • stop trying to tell everyone how great your stuff is and just make or do great stuff

Don’t you wish everyone did that?

We do, too.  So, we are bucking the “say more, say it louder” trend in 2011.  Our mantra for this year is:

    Simple.  Beautiful.  Remarkable.

Here are 5 ways OurChurch.Com is becoming more simple, beautiful, and remarkable right out of the gate in 2011.

Stay tuned this week as we’ll be discussing each of these values in more depth: Wednesday – simple, Thursday – beautiful, and Friday – remarkable.

Do you feel like life is getting noisier?  How have you been dealing with it?  By saying more, louder?  Are you ready to buck that trend and pursue simple, beautiful, remarkable along with us?

I was hoping Christian Websites and blogs like OCC surpasses famous blogsites like FB and others for their easiness, attractiveness, and their provisions, plus their challenging features, fun and ventures.

That's our goal. Not to compete with Facebook, WordPress, etc by providing similar functionality, but to make the tools we do provide more simple, beautiful, and remarkable.
