Sorry this is being published so late in the day. It’s been a crazy week and a crazy day. I was pleased to see a number of good articles about Internet evangelism and Internet Evangelism Day (IED) published this week. And I came across one new EID-related initiative that I may get involved in and you may want to as well.
Christian Broadcasting Network – Craig von Buseck CBN.com Ministries Director recently interviewed Dr. Sterling Huston who is chair of the Internet Evangelism Coalition (IED) which organizes the annual Internet Evangelism Day.
ied@sg – The Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ has launched a new website to support a week of Internet Evangelism Day related activities. The week of activities includes a blogging carnival, testimony wall, online missions, and NewMedia forum and culminates with a day of Internet evangelism seminars on the 25th followed by IED itself. Singapore is a long way to go for a seminar for most of us, the I’ll be checking out the online activities leading up to IED.
Jesus Geek – John Wilkerson in this week’s Jesus Geek podcast explains what Internet Evangelism Day is all about. Among other things, he brings up an important point that is often overlooked – IED is not the one day of the year when Christians go out and share the gospel online, it’s a day to raise awareness and talk about evangelism strategies in your church or ministry that will carry on throughout the year.
WELSTech – I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet, but there appears to be an extensive discussion about Internet evangelism in general and IED specifically in the latest podcast.
Evangelism Matters – Blog describes 3 ways that every online Christian can share Christ with the billions of people who are online around the world
Baptist Churches in the Philippines – Interesting article on the impact the Internet has had on Filipino society and opportunities for online evangelism in the Philippines.
There are also some good new articles up on the IED blog Digital Evangelism Issues.
Some other blogs that mentioned IED this week include:
If I missed anything please feel free to post a link in the comments. If you blog and haven’t mentioned IED, do it and I’ll link to you next Friday.
Any thoughts on these articles?
