    Internet Evangelism Day Stories

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckApr 30, 2008Updated:Apr 30, 20086 Comments3 Mins Read

As you ought to know by now (because I’ve been blogging about it all month) this past Sunday, April 27, was Internet Evangelism Day.  In addition to posting articles about Internet evangelism opportunities, I’ve been linking to every news story and blog article about IED I could find.  So, my question this week is, did anyone actually do anything for IED or is it just something people like to talk about?

Yes.  I was encouraged to find a several stories about Internet Evangelism Day activities.

    Lisa B.
Lisa B. shared the story of how she led an “online buddy” of hers to Christ online last year.  Lisa is so passionate about Internet evangelism that she launched the new Simply His Blogger site.  She writes about it:

I’m going to share how-to’s, tips and tricks you can use on your blog. But I’m also going to share information with you on how you can use your blog to share stories of your faith. I’ll be interviewing other bloggers who share their faith and get tips from them that will help you.

She is also giving away a blog package in an effort to help someone else get started sharing their faith online.  (Read more)

    Jeremy Denlinger
Jeremy Denlinger, Technical Arts Director for Pequea Church in Lancaster, PA set up a Facebook group for his church as a part of Internet Evangelism Day.  You can read more about it on his blog.    (Read more)

    Wels Tech Podcast
This week the Wels Tech Podcast focused on IED.  It featured Internet evangelism tips and an interview discussing their own multi-language Internet outreach efforts. (Read more)

    OurChurch.Com
We here at OurChurch.Com added 6 new features to our NE1 Website Builder, specifically help churches, ministries, and individuals use the websites to better connect with non-Christians. (Read more)

So, how about you?  Did your church or ministry do anything for Internet Evangelism Day?  If so, we’d love to hear about it.

If not, just remember that there’s nothing sacred about April 27.  Any day is a good day to take steps to share the Gospel online with unbelievers.  The IED website has tons of ideas of resources.  Hopefully, God will speak to you through these stories and he’ll lead some of you to take some steps of faith in the coming year to share your faith online.

Yes, well I decided to clean up my old blogs and start “reconstructing” them for developing “bridge” ministries. Hopefully everyday will become internet evangelism day on these little web journals? Thanks Mr. Steinbrueck for all your efforts. These count for more than you may realize.

While the day has gone, our public relations comittee has taken the challenge to put together a new design for our website. Changing emphasis and making navigation easier. It is still not online yet but as you know a new design does not happen instantly. I think it should be online in a few weeks pending missing content. This has to be a team effort if we want it to work. Thanks for the great work Paul.

Kathy, thanks for sharing what you’re doing with your blogs. If you have any stories of opportunities to share your faith as a results, I hope you’ll share them with us.

Bill, thanks for your comment. You mentioned “changing emphasis…” I think a lot of people would be interested to know where you thought the empasis was before, what your new emphasis is, and how that is reflected in the design. What specific changes have you made or are you making to implement that emphsis?

      Hey Paul!

I’m slow — I just saw your comment on my blog and came over here to see what’s going on. Thank you so much for sharing about my new site! I’ve been praying for awhile that God will show me how to use my talents (WordPress knowledge mainly) to glorify Him, and I think helping others blog is what I’m hearing from Him.

I look forward to catching up on your posts here and following you from now on 🙂
