Be a Part of the Internet Evangelism Ideas Guest Blogger Carnival

Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckMar 25, 201010 Comments3 Mins Read

Internet Evangelism Day is exactly 1 month away – April 25, 2010.

Internet Evangelism Day is an annual focus day to help Christians understand the huge and growing potential to share the good news of Jesus through digital media.

OurChurch.Com has is a huge advocate of Internet Evangelism Day. We’ve even made Internet evangelism the focus for the entire month of April for the last several years. This year we need your help to take Internet Evangelism Month to a whole new level.

We are looking for 20 bloggers who have a passion for using the Internet to share the gospel to each post one Internet evangelism idea here at Christian Web Trends as a guest blogger.

Internet Evangelism Ideas Explode with Social Media

The explosion in popularity of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter have provided exponentially more opportunities for people to connect with those who don’t know Jesus as their savior, build relationships, do unexpected acts of kindness, and share the gospel message.

What’s even more exciting is that there are so many more people talking, blogging, and tweeting about ways to share their faith than ever before. The number of voices engaged in this conversation is growing exponentially.

Just about every week now I read about at least one completely new idea I had never even considered.

Rather than write about these ideas myself, I would much rather have the people who come up with them and are doing them write about them.

    That’s you!

Plus this gives Christian Web Trends readers the opportunity to meet some passionate, innovative bloggers they may not have met before.

    The Deets

On April 1, I’m going to kick things off with an introductory post about IED & the Internet Evangelism Ideas Guest Blogger Carnival. Then for the next 20 week days (April 2-29), we’ll publish one new guest post a day. Only April 30, I’ll post a wrap up article.

I’ve created a sign-up sheet in Google Docs.

If you’d like to guest post, email me at paul at ourchurch dot com and I’ll give you access to sign up on the spreadsheet.

Deadline for signup is midnight March 31. But the sooner you sign-up the better.

If you have more than one idea you’d like to blog about, that’s awesome! You can sign up for more than post.

You don’t need to have an idea nobody has ever thought of before to be a part of the carnival. People need to hear about ideas that have been around for a while and have proven effective. The idea doesn’t have to be original to you either. We just want to have as many people as possible sharing as many ideas as possible.

    What are you waiting for?

email me at paul at ourchurch dot com

I’m looking forward to reading about and discussing all the ways individuals, churches, and organizations can use websites, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, texting, and other online tool for evangelism.

Wow! A whole month devoted to Internet Evangelism.

I have been active in Christian media and Internet related activity for a number of years. But, until a year ago, hadn't really been exposed to the use of the Web for Digital Missions or "straight-up evangelism."

These days, I like to quote my new friend, Daryl Hunter, a Senior IT architect for LifeChurch.tv.

Daryl says, "There are more people alive today than at any other point in human history, and they are more connected (relationally and digitally) now than at any time in the past. We not only have the opportunity to reach more people than ever before, we have a responsibility."

Thanks for your passion Paul, to spread the word about how God is working through churches, ministries and organizations using technology to reach people for Christ.

      Until the whole word hears!

Thanks Gordon! God is definitely doing some amazing things through people who are using technology. Really excited to have you as a part of the blog carnival. Maybe you could personally invite Daryl and anyone else you know who is passionate about using the Internet to share the gospel to join us in this project?

Through my website and twitter I have been trying to take advatage of technology to reach people for Christ and I think what you did here was great. I hope you do it again next year so that I can get involved. Here is a link to my Online Pastor site.
