New in 2016: 2) Better Email Communication

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckFeb 2, 2016Updated:Jan 26, 20232 Comments2 Mins Read

This year we are making some big improvements to communicate better with you.

First, a few stats about email:

    • 92% of online adults use email, with 61% using it on an average day. -Pew Research
    • 72% of consumers say that email is their favored conduit of communication with companies they do business with. -MarketingSherpa (2015)
    • 30% of consumers now read their email exclusively on mobile devices – Yesmail “Email Compass: The Mobile Effect” (2013)

    Bottom line is:

Email is the most effective way to communicate with most people.

    We’re switching to Zoho

For years we’ve used an in-house email system we developed ourselves, but the quality and features of professional email distribution/management services have surpassed our system, so we’ve switched to Zoho which is similar to Constant Contact and Mai Chimp but not as well known (and better, in my opinion). The benefits of this include:

    1) Easier to read. Emails sent by Zoho are mobile-friendly, so you’ll find our emails easier to read on any device.

    2) Easier to subscribe/unsubscribe. The subscribe/unsubscribe process with our old system was very cumbersome. With Zoho you’ll be able to subscribe or unsubscribe quickly and easily. It will also automatically unsubscribe people’s whose email accounts are disabled or closed down.

    3) More consistent delivery. In the past, we’ve found some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) occasionally block email from our email server which means sometimes subscribers don’t get our emails. Zoho is very diligent about maintaining good relationships with ISPs. In fact, they review and approve all of their clients’ emails to ensure spam is never sent from their servers, and their servers always have a great reputation.

We’ll be sending our first message via Zoho soon.  We look forward to your feedback.
