DIY SEO: The Do It Yourself Search Engine Optimization Series

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckApr 20, 2011Updated:Feb 9, 20237 Comments2 Mins Read

Want great search engine rankings and loads of new visitors from search engines? Kurt Steinbrueck is launching a new series on ChristianSEOGuys.com in which he will be giving step-by-step instructions so you can do exactly that – yourself. The series is called DIY SEO.

    Kurt writes:

We know that search marketing has a big impact on ministries, but SEO can be pretty confusing if you are not familiar with it. Even if we list the various aspects of SEO or mention possibly strategies, it can feel rather intimidating and overwhelming. So, in the coming weeks we want to take you through the process from start to finish (not that it ever really ends).

There is already a lot of information about search engine optimization available online. Where most people run into problems is taking general information about SEO and applying it to their specific situation. Addressing this problem is going to be one of the main points of emphasis in the series.

One of the tricky aspects to this idea is that how you go about performing SEO for a site can be different depending on the type of organization / goal of the optimization and Christian SEO can relate to churches, international ministries, local and national businesses, etc. all with different goals. So, with each post, our plan is to have an introduction to the topic and then a series of links to different types of organizations. Each link will take you to the information about that topic for that specific type of organization.

For more details see the DIY SEO: The Do It Yourself Search Engine Optimization Series post on ChristianSEOGuys.com

Where are you when it comes to SEO? Would you like someone to walk you through step by step how to optimize your website? Does this sound like an important series for you? What specific SEO issues would you like to see addressed?

I would like to know what I can do behind the scenes to optimze my placement in search engines. I've tried to put a number of key words and phrases in the Meta Keywords section of our home page, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. I would like some advice on that plus the Meta Description. I would like to know what type of things to use under "SEO Words" and when to put the words there rather than under "Meta Keywords." Also, is there anything I can add to the "additional header content" or any behind-the-scenes html code that I can add to my pages?

Mainly, I want my page to be at the top of the list for people who are searching for a new church in my area. I would also like it to come up for anyone who wants to learn more about God or salvation or how to get to heaven.

      Thank you.

Yes, Paul though there are many guides and help available online, the newbies face difficulties in learning SEO, if one can provide step to step learning programs it will be more beneficial, because on the job training gives more knowledge than making some thing to read and then perform.
