When Is It Time To Replace Your Website? (Part 2)

    Mark SteinbrueckBy Mark SteinbrueckAug 17, 2015Updated:Jan 26, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

If you read last week’s post, I wrote about when it was time to replace your website.  Sometimes instead of completely replacing your website, you can redesign your site, but only if the web platform you use allows for it.  Not only do you need to consider a new design but also the functionality of your website.  You may need to move to a new website if you just can’t accomplish the functionality you want with your current web platform.

This week, I want to provide to you 7 questions you can ask when getting feedback from others about your website to determine if it is time for a new site:

    1. How often to you go to the website?  (Multiple choice option: 5+ times/week, 2-3x per week, 2-3x per month, almost never)
    2. Name the top 3 things you use the website for (ie: find info on upcoming events, register for upcoming events, listen to services/sermons, online Bible studies).
    3. On a scale of 1-10 (1 meaning you despise it and 10 meaning you love it), how do you like the design of the website?
    4. On a scale of 1-10 (1 meaning you can’t find your way around and 10 meaning it is very simple to navigate around the website), how easy is it to find the information you want on the website?
    5. Is there anything you wish you could do on the website that you currently cannot?
    6. Is there anything on the website or about the website that absolutely drive you nuts?
    7. Any other feedback you would like to provide about the website?

What are your thoughts on the above questions?  Are there any other questions that you think are important when gauging whether or not it is time for a new website?  Please post your comments or questions below.
