Be the Guidance People are Searching For

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckJul 20, 2018Updated:Mar 7, 20191 Comment3 Mins Read

Continuing our series on how to make your church website a destination, one of the things people pray and search for most is guidance.

Scripture tells us God gives us wisdom and guidance primarily in three ways:

    1. the bible (2 Timothy 3:16)
    2. the Holy Spirit (John 14:26)
    3. wise counsel of others (Proverbs 19:20)

In this post, we’re going to focus on the 3rd way, godly counsel, because it provides a great opportunity for you and your church to create content that is helpful for your church members, your local community and search engines.

9 Examples of Godly Counsel You Can Publish on Your Church Website

    1. How to pray
    2. How to grow spiritually
    3. How to overcome worry and anxiety
    4. How to forgive my parents
    5. How to deal with a boss who asks me to do something I know is wrong
    6. How to deal with a neighbor whose dog keeps pooping on my lawn
    7. How to help a teenager who seems to be addicted to video games
    8. How to help the homeless in [your city]
    9. How to share the gospel in the workplace

This is just scratching the surface. The possibilities are endless.  And the benefits are numerous

5 Benefit of Publishing Godly Wisdom to Your Church Website

    1. Provides guidance for the people in your church
    2. It shows people outside your church that God and your church genuinely care are about people and the real world issues we face
    3. People in your community and around the world are searching online for guidance with their struggles. The Holy Spirit can work through your content to help them.
    4. If you encourage the members of your church to share these pages of wisdom via social media, it will help their friends connect with your church.
    5. People who write blogs and manage websites like to link to good content. Links to these pages will bring more visitors to your website and improve your search rankings.

Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life. -Proverbs 19:20

From a practical standpoint, these pages/articles could be posted to a blog. Or you could add a page called Help, Wisdom, or Guidance and on that page put a link to each page/article you publish.  Or both.
