How to Use Video Testimonials to Advance Your Mission

    Paul SteinbrueckBy Paul SteinbrueckOct 15, 2021Updated:Oct 29, 20211 Comment3 Mins Read
    remarkable Christian SEO services

This month we’re focusing on how to use video to advance your mission.  One of the best ways to do that is by sharing stories.

For churches, you can share personal stories of how God is transforming people’s lives.

For Christian ministry and business, you can share stories from the people you serve of how God has used your ministry or business to impact their lives.

5 Elements of a Great Video Testimonial

Regardless of the type of organization, a great video testimonial includes these 5 elements.

    1. Introduction.
    2. Pain. Describe your situation or the main problem you were facing before.
    3. Organization, Product, Process. Describe what the church/ministry/business did for you and what it was like to work with or be with them through the process.
    4. Impact. Describe the impact the church/ministry/business had and the way things are now in contrast to how they were before.
    5. Recommendation.

Video Testimonial Example – Point of Return

Here’s an example of a good video testimonial.

Point of Return is a nonprofit that helps people get off prescription drugs like antidepressants and sleeping pills (introduction).  They were paying thousands of dollars for Google Ads and Google was regularly banning their ads even though there was nothing wrong with them. Google had tried hiring some other companies to help them with search engine optimization (SEO), but they were unsuccessful (pain).

Alesandra Rain, Point of Return’s cofounder, contacted OurChurch.Com.  We listened to understand the unique challenges they were facing and developed a customized SEO plan for their organization (organization & process).  Within 6 months, the amount of visitors and contacts they were getting from search engines had grown so much, they were able to completely stop their paid search ads (impact).

    Take a look:

Oh, and don’t forget element #5, the recommendation…

It has been a remarkable experience working with OurChurch.Com! They’ll be the only ones that ever work with us [on SEO] again! –Alesandra Rain, Point of Return

It does take some effort to record and publish video testimonials, but as you can see in this example, they don’t have to be highly produced.  In fact, the simpler they are, the more genuine and authentic they feel.

    Comment and discuss:

    • Does your organization use video testimonials? Why or why not?
    • If you do have video testimonials, share a link to one in the comments so others can see another example.

And if Alesandra’s testimonial struck a chord with you and you’re interested in talking with us about search engine optimization complete the consultation request form below so we can schedule a free call.
