After more than a decade of equipping churches for ministry online the American Bible Society has announced that it will be shutting down ForMinistry.com on October 31, 2013 and is recommending that organizations that have built their websites on its platform transition to OurChurch.Com.
In 1999, ForMinistry was started out of the American Bible Society’s vision to see the Word of God made available to every person. It enabled churches and ministries to create their own website with a free, easy-to-use web builder at a time when there were few website options available. But 14 years later, there are an abundance of website options available to Christian organizations and the American Bible Society has chosen to focus on efforts more closely related to distributing the Bible.

By recommending OurChurch.Com, the American Bible Society is pointing its users to an organization that shares very similar beliefs, values and passions for helping Christian organizations.

For those who were with ForMinistry and are now seeking a new "place" I would like to "second" the recommendation of the American Bible Society. I have known the Ourchurch.com founders and their families for many years and I am pleased to say that they all walk-the-walk as well as talk-the-talk of their Christian faith. These men and their families are humble servants of Christ and also quite knowledgeable in their field.
